Organic Red Sage 10g In Glass Jar
alvia officinalis var purpurea (rubrum) Red Sage is a variety of ordinary Garden Sage. Both varieties have scores of uses. The chief difference between the two is the colour of their leaves and their essential oil content. The leaves of Red Sage have a reddish tint, while regular Sage is greyish-green in colour. Both plants produce essential oils, but Red Sage oil is stronger and thus, its medicinal uses are slightly different. In British Herbalism Red Sage is used medicinally, while regular Sage is confined to kitchen use. Traditional Red Sage is used as an anti-inflammatory, especially for the respiratory system. Herbalists consider it specific for laryngitis, tonsillitis, aphthous ulcers as well as gingivitis and periodontal disease. It makes an excellent gargle for sore throats. Sage has the rare ability to inhibit sweating and can therefore be used to treat night sweats and hot flashes. Women with weak menstrual flow can use sage to regulate their periods. Use For Magical purposes Red Sage can be used like regular Garden Sage, for cleansing, healing rituals, and protection.
